The third quake was really more of a Tech-Demo with focus on Multiplayer. The second one had more of a focus on gameplay and story mechanincs. if there was a single-player Quake 5 who would they market that game to? The first Quake was a hodgepodge of ideas, with a focus on the 3D tech they had just made. It's the fans of the classic quake games, Quake 3 and hero oriented shooters. Even Quake Champions has a marketable audience. The people who like to play games with over the top themes. What about Rage? Well it seems that they decided to go the route of Marketing it to the same people who would play games like Borderlands, or Saint's Row.
